Thumbs up Busy Weekend at Spirit of the Lakes Church

A very busy and productive Saturday at my church. For the length of the day, our parking lot was used by one of the local anti-war groups for a rummage sale.

From 1:00 until 3:00, our Sanctuary was used by Minnesota 5th district congressman Keith Ellison to listen to and dialogue with the LGBTetc community. He was sincere, and spoke favorably about a trans inclusive ENDA. We had a little over 100 people, most of whom I knew to be active in the local gay community.

He wrapped up the proceedings by asking us to promote outreach, voter turnout, and coalition building.

I was kept hopping, by trying to straighten out possible parking problems, getting the Sanctuary set up with about 200 chairs, trying to keep our ailing sewer from overflowing, and trying to keep the rising winds from blowing away everybody's literature. (Global warming equals more winds)

Building manager, My Backside. I could use a little help, now and then.

However, it was a positive experience, and good things were accomplished.

I guess this must make me an activist, at least if measured by the stress involved.

Peace and Love, Bruce Chris

I'd say setting up 200 chairs and dealing with sewer problems qualifies you as a very active activist.

And calming the wind qualifies you as Moses.

Default Right you are RedNeck.

Judging by the works that they put in their book sale booth, they are a very literate bunch.
