Default Prayer request

Hey everyone,
I have a couple of short prayer request that you all can be praying for.

The first is that i have a gay friend who is really struggling with accepting his sexual identity here at school and as he struggle, it affects all those who love him because when he's on a being gay is wrong spree, he tends to be condemning to all of us who accept out sexuality as God's gift. Pray for patients that eventhough we get hurt sometimes by his actions while he's struggling that I could have patience. Also pray that God will give him peace about how God has designed him.

Also pray for My friends who go to bluefield college. One of her friends got locked up for attending the dance with her transgender style. He was charged with criminal trespassing and given a thousand dollar bail. He is out of prison now and has a hearing sometime soon, but pray that God opens the heart of the adminstration there to drop the charges and to turn away from the harsh treatment of the glbt community at large.

thanks,
derrick

Omigosh, arrested with $1000 bail for going to a dance? I misunderstand some part of that, obviously, but yes, I will certainly pray for your friends.

It is hard as **** to be on the sidelines while someone you care about goes through emotional conflict, such as your struggling friend.

My best wishes to both your friends, and to you.

I too will say a prayer as you have asked.

I sometimes feel like I am worlds apart from people when they make light of the damage the anti-gay forces have done. It's not really even necessary for them to repeat the clobber passages and all the tired anti-gay arguments... they've taught us to do that to our own community.

Hi Derrick,

A thousand bucks fine for going to a dance? That really is something. I pray- with Zerbie- that these charges are dropped- which are- in effect- an act of intimidation.

Re your friend. The cliche "You can lead a horse to water..." come to mind here. He'll come to his senses- we pray- with time. There is also another kind of prayer. And that is your very life as an openly gay man. He'll get the message. Indirect perhaps, but the most powerful message possible.

Be happy. Love and be loved. That's a truth. It will set him free when he's ready for it.

I hope everyone offers thoughtful prayers about this. Everyone should keep in mind, this is rural southwestern Virginia, and is one of the most conservative parts of the country. This doesn't surprise me at all, knowing what I do about the area. I pray that everything will work out to be the best it can be, these are very trying times. God bless.
