I joined in May of 2008. I found Soulforce because I was doing some research online about what the Bible says about different topics like drinking alcohol, cussing, homosexuality, etc. When I researched homosexuality, I found Mel White's book What the Bible says - and doesn't say - About Homosexuality. What an eye-opener. After reading the book, I signed up on the forums and have been reading and absorbing the amazing intelligence and unconditional love offered here. This site has been life-changing for me personally.

I found Soulforce through Stranger at the Gate. Dec. 2005 (12/1/05 I think, have to check again). It's been an amazing 3 years!!

Wow, this brings me to a thread I wanted to start. But perhaps this is the perfect place to say it?? I'm SO thankful for Soulforce, the forums and all of you. Because of our conversations over the last 3 years, I am in a place where I can easily work with a very eclectic group of people, of all faiths and backgrounds. I can value their experiences and beliefs and use it all collectively to do our work. We are working on reaching out to faiths (right now Christian congregations), bringing an excellent course on marriage equality, Living Lovingly, into churches and opening dialogue with church members. A similar course is being developed for the Jewish faith, and there will be others.

Our group is really wonderful, powerful and a complete joy. I love them all. Without Soulforce, I wouldn't be quite in the position I am now, ready to go forward and get started. We had initial training yesterday, and have 5 churches signed up right now and working on more. Plus we are helping others in different geographical locations so they can move forward to.

Thanks to all of you for your lessons and friendship. It has meant, and still means so much to me. I can never express the full amount of gratitude that I feel for all of you.

Living online- even on a forum as interesting, and as necessary as this one, can be like that. Which is why I noted that I needed to get out more!
So in other words, you're telling me I'm right. You see yourself as the Perkins character. (When you're not busy picturing yourself as Snape.)

Dude! -- er, oh, oops, sorry, I mean ummm. . . I mean, "Sir!"
You need to shut the computer off and get out of doors. Hie thee to the Park, Sir!

(No, I DON'T know what I'm babbling about, but I do know that you could use some real life escape -- go have some fun and play. Take your Handsome and go out dancing. Or something.)

I'm actually surprised to see what the results look like so far. I thought that there would be a lot more newer members, I didn't realize that so many of our regulars had been here that long.

Nearly a year and a half and counting. I've never stuck with an online forum this long. I usually get bored and move on within a very short time. Something just keeps drawing me back here, not sure what... certainly not the people here, they're just terrible.

Learned of SF through "Religion Gone Bad."
