Default Tools, Insights That Might Be Useful

Today, at Men's Bible Study, I heard an internet evangelist speak. I wanted to fill in his story, so I did some googling. I found a long (267 page) Acrobat file from an evangelism conference at Liberty University. These annual conferences focus on internet technology and evangelism. I found the speaker's name, Walt Wilson, in a presentation entitled "Evangelistic Sites and Follow-up Systems by Allan Beeber & Siam Rogers.

I've only skimmed a bit of this tome. I recognize that its organizers and presenters can readily be seen as 'the other side.'

I don't believe that perspective should prevent us from learning from them, learning what tools and approaches work and do not work. Those of you who are involved in the website or related websites might want to check out:

There is a link in the first paragraph connected to the word "HERE."

Am I correct in my assumption that there is a crying need for tools to reach glbt persons who need to know that the hostile church that is easy to find is not the only church? These presentations describe tools for active outreach.

I hope this is useful to Soulforce activists who are internet active.

Default Use Every resource.

Every resource needs to be used by the glbt community. Remember, those who oppress us are wise in their ways. One of the pieces of advice mentioned in the epistles is to be 'wise as serpents but gentle as doves'. Technology can be used for good when used wisely. Just because some people abuse that privilege doesn't mean that it's off limits to us.
