Default Mormons - "Nothing can defeat us"

From The Advocate News:

President Thomas S. Monson urged the Mormon faithful to cultivate fortitude in the face of criticism.

"The moral footings of society continue to slip, while those who attempt to safeguard those footings are often ridiculed and, at times, picketed and persecuted," said Monson, according to the local ABC affiliate, KTVX-TV.

The LDS church has been the subject of protests around the United States for its instrumental role in the passage of Prop 8, the ballot initiative which overturned legal same-sex marriage in California in November.

"Though the storm clouds may gather," Monson continued, "though the rains may pour down upon us, our knowledge of the Gospel and our love of our Heavenly Father and of our Savior will comfort and sustain us and bring joy to our hearts as we walk uprightly and keep the commandments. There will be nothing in this world that can defeat us."

Really? I think your ignorance and intolerance will defeat you.

I have yet to understand why allowing me to get married somehow undermines THEIR world stability. It's got f*#k-all to do with them.

Default It would be nice, if I could credibly tell people that I have the personal word

Of God, on just how things really ought to be done.

Of course, I would have to be either the Pope, or the Prophet* to do that.

Infallibly Yours, Bruce Chris

(The leader of the LDS church is otherwise known as the Prophet)

Default What do Mormons believe in again?

I honestly don't even remember a commandment saying homosexuality is bad.
What I remember is this: the commandments are guidelines that God sent us in order to live a holy life as good people toward our fellow neighbors.
Now, if I marry Steve, I don't really see how that affects my neighbor.
Unless they're homophobes.
But then again, that's against the commandments themselves, isn't it?
You must love your neighbor? Something like that

Hey, you're right! That commandment tells us to love our neighbor, and if they are the same sex as us, then we are actually upholding Gods rules and therefore more Christian than those that discriminate! LOL

Smile Mormons

Aren't they supposed to be a cult, like the Jehovah's Witnesses? My church doesn't recognize Mormons as Christian.
