Default Life Update

So, I haven't been on here in quite some time, and I felt that it was high time I posted something here. Wow. Life has been AMAZING the past few months. I have graduated from high school. What a relief, I made it without being found out and possibly expelled. In fact, I was the salutatorian, and got a few other honors, not to brag. I'll be heading east to go to college in the fall (if you really care, pm me and I might tell you )

On an even more important note I've really developed my relationship with people and God this year. Especially God. I've shifted on some theological positions, but am mostly the same. What's most affected my relationship with God is my church that I've been going to for a little under a year now. It's fantabulous, pro-gay, liturgical, beautiful, sacramental, evangelical, etc. I am so grateful for all the people there.

About the people thing. I had the audacity to come out to a guy friend on whom I had a major crush. Actually he sort of figured it out 20-questions style, but in a fun sorta way, not like an inquisition. Even better he was TOTALLY cool with it. Thanks be to God! He's an awesome friend (crush is gone now) and I'm so thankful that we've become such good friends. I've come out to a lot more people, still have the family to tell (probably waiting a few more years), but I have got some damn good friends. Oh, and that includes those of you here who helped me to accept myself. I want to give a big shout out to all y'all. David, Daniel, Zerbie, Andy and all the rest of you! Thank you so much. I'll still be around, not too much, but I'll be here.

Default Way to go

Congratuations on graduating high school. What will you be studying in college? I'm happy that you've found a church you're comfortable in. Above else I praise God for your improved relationship with him.

Gennee

He's going to a VERY EXCELLENT (but not THE BEST) College in the Midwest. I tried to talk him into changing but he wasn't havin' it.

Seriously, congrats GdB! We're extremely proud of your accomplishments. Salutatorian!! not too shabby at all. I wish you all the best in College this Fall. My boys are heading into their Senior year, and college (at the BEST college in the Midwest ) has been an amazing, life-transforming experience for them. I wish you all that and more. Just grab hold of the experience by the lapels and shake it for all its worth. Do everything, try everything (except ... you know... like drugs and stuff... leave that alone ) be interested in everything. Date, Sing, dance, act, compete, read, write, think, talk long into the night. There will be plenty of time for sleeping later.

Bless you!

Dave

Definitely going to be doing all that. I mean, like you said, there'll be plenty of time to sleep later. Oh, and you're right that I'm not going to the best college in the midwest. I'm going to the BEST COLLEGE IN THE US! w00t! Go Lords and Ladies!

Gregory- what a great post to start this thread! Congrats on graduating, not being expelled (you can fill them in later!, being salutatorian, having a church you can call home, surviving a crush who is now a friend, and getting into a school that makes you go Woot!

May you have more audacity in months and years to come! And may you be blessed with love and many joys.

Great stuff is happening for you: enjoy the ride!

And please be practical! If you haven't already, open up a savings account and an IRA. If you stash away some bucks now - in your 20's- it will grow into something. Compound interest is where it's at!

Peace and more peace,

Daniel
