Default Focus on Family Sells Ex-Gay Department

Friends,

Hear's the link:

http://minnesotaindependent.com/4195...dget-shortfall

I wonder what they charged Exodus for this part of their "business." If they sold it for more than a symbolic one dollar, then they are doing nothing more than openly profiting off of the misery of those people who pay money to Exodus for the false hope that they can change their sexual orientation or the orientation of a loved one.

This is nothing more than quakery at its worst.

I want to know what Exodus paid! Is there a way to find out?

If the organization is a non-for-profit, they have to file their taxes as a matter of public record. Of course, this means that you couldn't file a request for this information until next year (after taxes are filed), but you should be able to find out eventually.

It's an interesting question.

I don't understand why Focus on the Family couldn't make the ex-gay business work. If they use magic to change gay people into straight people then why not use that same magic to make more money?

It doesn't make sense.

I doubt if Dobson and gang lost their money by feeding the hungry, clothing the poor and taking care of all the widows & children. Perhaps they should have thought twice about giving so much money to the Yes on 8 campaign here in CA. I'm sure that didn't help their finances any.
