Talking Hello

Hello, my name is Dave and I have just finished watching Equality U on Logo. I have never been so impressed with a production. As a 67 year old gay male, I have had my share of rejection, depression, ridicule, and the whole gamut of gays slurs. I was so impressed with the work of Soulforce and the Equality Ride that I will no longer sit back and let other people carry the flag. I may be old but there's still a lot of fight left in me. The recent events in Maine have caused me to totally re-think what I fought for during the civil rights campaigns of the 60's and the war in Viet Nam. I will no longer stand back and let the "kids" carry the flag. I WANT to be in the forefront in the years that I have left. There, I've VENTED!

Default Hi Dave

I am inspired by your zeal and enthusiasm. We need a lot more people like you, both gay and straight, that are willing to step outside their comfort zone and stand up for fairness and equality. It won't happen automatically.

And at this point in history there are a lot of us old timers in American society. We can get out there and make a difference.

Smile Welcome

Welcome, Dave. I'm the same way. As a 61 year old transgender woman I have decided to speak up and stand up for equality for the whole GLBT community.

Hey Dave! it is so awesome that Equality U had such a huge impact on you! much in the same way it and my friends who have been on the ride in the past have had an impact on me. I think it is awesome that people are beginning to realize the benefits of commUNITY organizing not just hte youth or not just the elders but us together realizing that its we, its we apart of this community! watch out for where me and the rest of my fellow 2010 Riders are going this spring! Welcome to the forums!

Have a stellar day,
Colin
