Default QAF and the L Word

I rented QAF and watched the first season and it was so good to see a show about the GLBT community. As I watched more seasons, I began to see it as a mere representation of SOME glbt people and certainly not all, but still good to see it on TV.

The L word? I like it but it does not represent me as a lesbian. I am not wealthy or beautiful, and I do not cheat on my wife, nor have I ever wanted to. All that to say, I do like the show, but for entertainment value. I think it is tragic that Bette and Tina can't find a way to stay together and be happy. I am also about to kick Shane for leaving Carmen at the altar, and what of poor Helena now that her mother has left her penniless? Ah, season 4, can't wait.

All in all, good shows.

Default As a recovering soap opera addict

Yes, I did get into QAF for a while - during the last season I think it was. Not a bad show.

I have only ever watched 5 minutes of the L word. You know how it is the first time seeing a show you've never watched before, you don't know who the characters are or what the background is so it doesn't make sense? Something happened in those 5 minutes that I said, "Oh, come on, get real!" shut it off, and never tuned in again. But I do have that propensity to get addicted to soaps, so if it's at all like that, I s'pose I could get hooked at any time.

Spoken by the girl who seems to have finally broken her addicted to Days of Our Lives (gramma started me on Days when I was 5, so I've watched it for a lotta years!!!!!!).

Default The L Word

Sorry to ruin it all for you. Season 3 was wierd. I didn't see the sense in killing Dana off, I mean you can highlight the plight of breast cancer without killing someone off. Breast cancer is not a death sentence, necessarily. Also the whole Moira/MAx thing was just wierd-I have nothing against transgendered people, I just didn't feel any chemistry between her and wierdo Jenny. The best part about Season 3 was the hot love affair between Helena and Dylan (played by Alexandra Hedison) UMMM HOT!!! And I could really kick Shane-Carmen is so beautiful and Latin, OMG-why wouldn't someone want to have that in their life forever. Anyway, I will faithfully watch Season 4, but seriously, let these lesbians be happy for once. Some of us really are, you know. Happy, that is, and LESBIAN!!!!!!!!

Default L Word

Yes I did see the first two seasons. My wife and I were contemplating having a child together and so it hit home with us, with Tina trying to get pregnant. I totally loved the love scenes. My wife and I were in the closet for a long time, and I really didn't know how "it" should be done except for what we had experienced through trial and error, so to speak. It was nice to see how the other half lives. LOL.
