Unhappy In Memory of SNEAKERS the Cat

One of the cats died this morning. His name was Sneakers. We don’t know how he died. He seemed to be fine last night. This morning he was lying dead on the floor.

Sneakers, was the most loving, gentle, sweet and wonderful cat that I’ve ever seen or known. He had a unique personality that was all his own. He will be missed. Sneakers just being here added a lot to our home. I can feel that his presence is gone. It’s very upsetting.

I send this e-mail out in memory of the loving, sweet, wonderful, and gentle Sneakers.

snuka12000,

I'm so sorry to hear that your beloved pet and friend has died.

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow,
may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.

Default My sympathy

I'm so sorry for your loss... Having just lost my kitty, Jack on January 20th, I know how hard it is to accept... They tread so lightly upon your heart that you never realize until they're gone what a difference they made... In the days to come, I will think of Sneakers, meeting up with Jack and the two of them deciding to be off on some new and exciting adventure...

Again, I'm sorry. Please know that you're not alone...

I am sorry for your loss.

People don't always understand how much our animals mean to us and how much it hurts when we lose them. They are a part of our family and they are always there for us when we come home from work. They know when we need to cheer up and are there for us. My cat Razzmatazz never slept on my pillow at all, ever. My Step-Father died 2 years ago now but when I came home from his bedside after he passed that morning, I fell into bed and slept. My wife had to go to work and I was left to grieve alone for the time being. I woke later that morning and found my kitty curled up on my pillow, where he never slept, my wife told me that I didnt move all night but he slept next to me, curled up and them when she got up, he moved to my pillow. It helped to comfort me. They know we need them.

(((HUGS)))) Won't you share about Sneakers? We would love to hear some stories,

Animals have a quality that so many humans do not--they love unconditionally. I'm the proud owner of 2 aging chihuahuas, and I cherish every day I get with them.

Though your furry friend is gone, the love that bound you is not, and never will be.

Unhappy R.I.P. Sneakers

Thank you all for your understanding and sympathetic words!

tymejumper, asked that I share a story about Sneakers. Well, Sneakers, loved food! Whenever anyone went into the kitchen he followed right behind them. As I prepared food, he sat down right next to me, looked up at me and I felt that he was saying, "You're going to give me some of that, right?" We couldn't leave food out because he could jump onto the stove and get into whatever we left out.

Sneakers made eye contact with you. He was very smart. He was always opening up doors. Sneakers had the personality of a dog.

Sneakers loved my mother. Sneakers followed my mother around wherever she went in the house. My mother and father went away on vacation and Sneakers kept looking for them to come in. I could tell that Sneakers was upset and anxious because they, especially my mother, were gone. I know that he was thinking, "Where are they?"

Sneakers had his spots where he slept. There is a big plastic container that he always slept on. I keep looking for him to be on that container. When we were at the computer, he use to always come be near us.

When I'm making a sandwich or something, I keep expecting Sneakers to be coming into the kitchen to see what I'm doing.

Default The Rainbow Bridge

I've got two cats, and every few months, I have to take my Chessie to MedVet here in Columbus to get his heart condition checked out. Thankfully, he's never shown any signs of problems, but when I've been there in the waiting room, I've seen this poem called "The Rainbow Bridge":

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

you are welcome - one thing about this forum that I really appreciate is that people are pretty real. It's very affirming.

That's probably because his owner loved him so openly and that made the beautiful creature grow in awareness about how to engage and connect with humans.

Sneakers sounded like a beautiful creature.

That's the place within the heart where his felt presence remains. I am filled with grief at your moving story. For the reminder of the many beautiful pets that have come and gone in my life.

I am having flashbacks to a litter of kittens I found one very very hot day--abandoned, and one of the six perished in the heat for need of his mum and coolness.

I wept as I called the animal people to come take them away. This big burly ranger man came--six foot plenty, he was, stropping thing. In his rasping baritone he said "one last chance--do you want them--they're going to the pound and will be dead by morning". He was shoving the cage in his cat-stealing van, and one of the creatures--I swear--looked me right in the eye and let out this braying scream.

I burst into tears, and (like the bionic woman he he--but I'm a male), I ran across the road and said "I'll take that!" and grabbed the cage. They became "my children" at that exact moment.

I made a solemn prayer and oath to God/The Universe that I would not let them come to harm. Bawling my eyes out, I took them inside thinking 'what the heck will I do with my instant family'. But, it was a decision I made in Faith.

I distributed 200 flyers around the neighbourhood--heart felt calls to help. Guess what happened!

Some lovely woman, the media director of such and such, put me in touch with 'this' person who put me in touch with 'that' person.

Within 24 hours--I was on two national radio stations and had a camera lens bearing down upon me with five creatures climbing all over me. My 10 seconds of fame on TV during Prime Time news hour! Go Figure!

Anyway - I received over 200 calls for help. Those kittens ended up being the most loved batch of abandoned kittens.

And it was an affirmation of my faith and of love and of the connectedness of all things.

Just like your message to us. Your kindness radiates from you in waves and inspires us to respond, in kind.

My kindness to you in your grief

Stav

Default My Condolences

Snuka, you have my deepest sympathies. My cat died on Palm Sunday so the wounds are still fresh. It's amazing how pets are like family. I really thank God for them being our lives because they bring so much joy and love.

Gennee
