Hello!

Hey everyone! I just found this website over the weekend and am pretty excited about it!

You can call me Kyoko... I just graduated from a small Baptist college and now work for a small Christian missions organization. After my first week here the gay and racist jokes by some of the people got to me. I told one of my friends from college about it and she came out to me. It wasn't a surprise, but it was great to be able to finally talk about it openly.

After she came out to me I re-realized that I am bisexual. I have known about my bisexuality since I was in middle school and was fine with it until I started going to church when I was around 16 and was told it was wrong. I've never even kissed a girl, but I just know that I like them and could actually see myself marrying a woman.

I'm not really sure what I believe religiously right now. I want to believe in Christianity... but I'm not so sure I can believe in a religion whose followers are so hateful. I guess this stems from the fact that I am/was part of the most hateful group of Christians (Southern Baptists, *shudder*). I don't really consider myself SB anymore... but I do continue to go to a SBC church...

I have always loved gay people... in fact I attract them. My two best friends in high school were gay men and one of my best friends from college is a lesbian... oh, and one of my roommates in college was a lesbian (although now she's an ex-gay). This is probably because us GLBT can usually tell when another's around. haha.

Hi, Kyoko and welcome to Soulforce. I read your intro and wish to say that you are a Christian because jesus is in your heart, not because you attend a particular church. God created you as you are so your attractions are natural. I'm a transgender person and a Christian and know that God loves me. He loves you as you are.
