President Obama has made a start, but it is only a start. In the U.S., we spend 40% more per person than any other country. We spend 2.5 Trillion dollars a year. 40% of 2.5 Trillion dollars is one Trillion dollars.
That's one Trillion dollars in ONE YEAR, not TWENTY YEARS. We have just made a small dent in the insurance company's petty cash. BruceChris

There's such a long way to go. Personally speaking, I have some reservations about Health Care Reform. Beside the insurance companies, Pharmaceutical companies need to be dealt with. Still wonder if you can get some thing covered (MRI, SRS).

Anyone know where I could get details on how this affects me (and when)? I know there's a thing about under 26 people getting onto their parents insurance: can I get back on if I've already been kicked out for being 23? And is that effective immediately or does that part kick in later?

Alecto,
I would think you could look or call a few places. First on the list would be www.whitehouse.gov which gives the overview of the health care bill. The second would be to call your local health department or health and human resources department. Those usually go by county. I would think the health department would be the first to get notified of what specifically has to happen for folks since they will largely be responsible for carrying out the law, unless a new government organization is going to be created to carry it all out. I hope that helps. |

I don't believe anything in the bill will become active till 2014.
It will be interesting to see how far up taxes will rise to pay for this. The money has to come from some where. Nothing is free. |

Parts addressing pre-existing conditions, and equal treatment start within the first year.
See -- http://www.healthreform.gov -- There are many other sources out there, but I think this one's the best. BC

There are 18 provisions on this list. EDIT: Drobs, the idea is to get the insurance companies to pay most of this. BC

Very important topic which is under discussion because more than 50% people are involved in different diseases. They are not conscious about there health..
We should introduce safety measures to save us from diseases..
