Smile Hello Everyone

Hello everyone, My name is Chris. I decided to join the forums for two reasons:

1. My son is struggling with his sexual identity but I support him no matter what he decides. Right now he says he's Bi, I told him what ever he decides, he always has his father's love and support, respect and acceptance.

2. I recently read a wonderful book by Mel White titled Religion Gone Bad. I firmly believe every word he wrote. Many things in there I suspected or could prove myself long before I found his book. I believe I was guided to his book at my local library, and from there to this forum.

Although I myself am Heterosexual it doesn't mean I haven't suffered at the hands of Fundamentalists of many faiths because I question the validity of a literal interpretation of a text. But this discussion is for another forum. I just wanted you all to know that is my primary reason for seeking out this website. I believe in everything Soulforce stands for. I hope I can contribute to this community, if only in a small way. Please feel free to contact me once I have my profile set up.

Okay, okay...I know I talk too much. I'll save the rest for another post.
Just wanted to say hello!

Smile Welcome

Welcome to Soulforce, Chris. It's wonderful to hear that you support your son as he tries to figure things out. Many folks have experienced similar feelings.

I read Mel White's book and couldn't put it down. I will pray for your son for guidance. I will pray that God will encourage both of you. Tell your son that God loves him unconditionally-and so do I.

Smile Thanks Everyone

Thanks to all who responded. It's great to hear positive things. We all need friends and you can never have too many, the way I see it. There's lot's to say so I will open a thread in general discussions I think, in order to discuss the many things on my mind. Again thanks for your hospitality.

Chris
