Hi Everyone!
My name is Jennifer. I am 38 years young. I live in a small town in Mississippi-please don't hold that againt me! I have always struggled with reconciling religion and my sexual orientation. In fact, I am still struggling considering the fact that my Mom has gotten back into church and thinks of my "lifestyle" as a choice.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year!

Hi Jennifer and welcome to Soulforce.I'm new around here too.I'm a mum to a lesbian daughter aged nearly 18 and we come from an evangelical christian background.I agree it is difficult to reconcile the two.At the moment she seems to feel that it is an either or choice and she is choosing the lesbian part so her interest in christian things has waned sadly.Anyway, welcome.

Your faith is yours and need not be defined by someone else's understanding. As far as choice goes, you can choose to have a better idea of God for yourself. Be still and know.
