Default Britt.

I was keeping up w/ the Equality Ride through Advocate dot com, & the magazines that come to my house. I think that gradually inspired sort of a spiritual re-awakening for me.

In high school, & I tried a few churches, never really felt accepted, quit going. The last one was sort of hellfire, fundamentalist place, which ended up putting me off. Feeling quilty about every little thing, etc. I didn't really have any solid spiritual beliefs for some years.

The college I where I aquired my psychology degree was actually pretty gay friendly, which was a nice surprise in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. That is actually when I told everyone about my homosexuality (minus my dad, who I came out to in 2004). Then there is the fact that I live as female sometimes, male other times. Luckily I'm pretty passable. I'm not sure if I want to go through the whole process of transition, or not. Lately I've felt comfortable essentially just being my genderqueer self as I am right now. I feel part male & part female. Maybe that's who God made me.

So that's all seemingly random info about me. I think now, I'm starting to reconcile my religious outlook w/ my sexuality. I knew soulforce existed, but following the Equality Ride & Haven's articles online eventually led me to actually stop feeling rejected by Christianity, & find this forum. So I'm glad they did the ride.

I saw the application for next year's ride. Considering applying for it, since I might as well contribute something back. Being able to take 2 months away from work if I were accepted is another matter entirely.

Anyway, hi everyone. I'll be doing more posting & reading when I can, but I'm a fairly busy person.

<3,
Britt.

I was actually born in Minneapolis, but have spent a pretty large chunk of my life in Tulsa. I more or less named myself Britt. Slightly different reason. It can just be Britt., or can be Brittany, whatever I feel is appropriate in a situation. It's sort of gender ambiguous, which I guess is why I always stick the period at the end. To suggest there is something more to it, & that I'm abbreviating.

Were you an equality rider? Or maybe you write on the Advocate? Pic looks familiar, but I don't think it's because we've met in person.

Britt. you should look at the pictures of the equality rider (www.equalityride.com).... I'm probably think differently then you, but to me he always looks a little bit like Jake. I know what you mean though he looks familiar.
