Hello!
My name is Kristi. I am a christian lesbian. I was born and raised in Iowa. I chose to go to Wheaton College, Illinois for college and was eventually 'kicked out' due to my lesbianism. That is the very shortened version of my 'story' I am now living in Florida and a very strong christian as well as in a long term relationship with the love of my life, Beth. I am so thankful with all the blessings and challenges that God has given me. I am recovering from the scorn I've felt from other Christians in my life and am happy I have found soulforce. I would be pleased to receive replies from anyone, as it is comforting to share experiences. God bless to all Kristi |

Good to see you here. I got up early, to go to lotsa volunteer gigs at Twin Cities Pride (300,000+ last year), and so I have managed to get in ahead of Zerbie, and Lydia, and I'm sure many others. I hope to see you come back and tell us more. Gotta run,
Peace and Love, BruceChris

Welcome Kristi!
These people here are great! I joined just recently. Best to you and Beth.I am currently in a lot of turmoil with my family of origin due to their daily devotion to the Assembly of God church. Check this out, the family member that is giving me the hardest time is my lesbian niece!! Oh that's right she is not lesbian anymore. My born again sisters took care of that Such crazyness!! Anyway, it is always good for me to hear about someone spiritually healthy and happy like yourself Best always to you and Beth. You will like it here at soulforce srspring

So Kristi - welcome! Please to make your acquaintance. Sounds like you indeed have one heckuva story to tell. Glad you got through relatively unscathed and are enjoying life now. Come back and post some more when you want. Zerbie |

Hello and welcome to the forum! Yes, many of us LGBT Christians have encountered problems with the Church. Luckily, comfort can be found. In my case it took time and finding a new progressive denomination: the UCC in order to heal from the mental scars. My former church was Christian Union, a strict, fundamentalist denomination: www.christianunion.com
The UCC (www.ucc.org/index1) is a breath of fresh air in comparison. Be well & don't give up the struggle. I like to call our experiences as being "in the wilderness." It can be difficult, but we can become better and stronger people after surviving it. Peace and Blessings to you & your partner.
