Default Theocons are taking after Muslim militants

In an article about a militant muslim group filing charges of indecency against their nation's Miss Universe contestant, the following statement was made...

"Some 85 percent of Indonesia's 220 million people follow Islam, making it the world's most populous Muslim country.

Although most Indonesian Muslims are considered relatively moderate and the government is officially secular, hard-line groups are becoming increasingly vocal and visible.

The result has been a tug-of-war in Indonesian politics over how much religious values should be reflected in law."

Doesn't this sound just like the strategy christian fundamentalists use?

Default The Fundamentalist Militancy

Yes, for I am afraid that the emergence of a zealous theocon rebellion in Christianity, Judaism and Islam has created a new meaning to the term "convergence theology".

Secular and moderate governments are being replaced by these theocracies, and as LGBT activists, we must add that the Islamic fundamentalist still believes in imposing the Sharia Law or Holiness Code proscription of death. It is my belief, S+, that the zealot theocon Christian wants to remove legal sanctions and reverse decriminalisation statutes before a time when they can share the radical proscriptions in the future. There are fundamentalist and orthodox Jews who expressed their views in Jerusalem recently.

Politicians are poll-driven, and the only percentage of the population who concern them are those who are activists and those who vote. If you wonder why state and federal elective politicians spend millions of dollars to become an incumbent and then earn only a few hundred thousand dollars at best.....then wonder no more.

If liberal theologians allow for tolerance and diversity of plural societal beliefs, and theocons insist upon secular and theological uniformity, then the liberal theologians MUST begin to engage from both within and without their own faith communities.
