EQUAL Direct Action on TheCall. Help Stop Uganda Gay Genocide.
Kansas City-based preacher Lou Engle has moved his ministry, The Call, into Uganda and has been influencing legislation which calls for life imprisonment or the death penalty for gay and lesbian citizens.
On December 30, 2010, EQUAL, led by the Phoenix Leadership Team, brought a group to confront Lou Engle and ask that he move his ministry, TheCall, out of Uganda.
“Gay people are already fleeing their homes and have to move from house to house because of threats to their lives. Americans need to stop Lou Engle from coming to Uganda.” –President of Sexual Minorities Uganda, Frank Mugisha
EQUAL held this die-in to ask the young IHOP conference attendants to help us put a stop to this pending genocide and to raise awareness of this Kansas City-based preacher whose influence means the death of many gay Ugandan citizens.
Please join us in asking IHOP (info@ihop.org) to not invite Lou Engle back to the OneThing conference next year and ask Lou Engle (response@thecall.com) and Joanna Watson (joannawatsonthint@yahoo.com) to move their ministry, TheCall, out of Uganda.
