With Election Day just over a week away (Nov. 8), the Religious Right is attempting to mobilize voters who will advance an anti-LGBTQ, anti-choice, anti-immigrant political agenda.
To do this, the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) has initiated a ‘#ChristiansVote’ media campaign to encourage Christians across America to cast their votes in the upcoming election.
We're calling all Soulforcers to join us this week to have conversation about the current political moment with other faithful voters in the legacy of relentless, nonviolent resistance.
We want to engage and transform the narratives of all Christian voters as we loudly proclaim and affirm LGBTQ people, the sanctity of Black lives, and reproductive justice for all in the legacy of relentless, nonviolent resistance.
About National Religious Broadcasters
In early October the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), an international network of right-wing Christian communicators, launched their “Christians Vote” voter education initiative. The NRB has 1,400 member organizations around the world.
The NRB’s member organizations include some of the most notorious leaders of white supremacist, anti-LGBTQ and anti-choice rhetoric, such as Family Research Council, Focus on the Family, Rick Warren, and the Alliance Defending Freedom—a key player in many of the lawsuits aiming to restrict bathroom access for transgender students. Read more about the NRB at our Know Your Neighbors page.
Soulforce is an organization that works to stop spiritual violence against LGBTQI people. We know in our bones that we will not be free until our spirits are free from the violence of Christian supremacy, so we use relentless nonviolent resistance to engage the institutions that physically, emotionally, financially, and spiritually harm our people.
Soulforce is made up of LGBTQI folks and our allies around the world who know deeply that spiritual practice and political analysis are inseparably tied to each other. We are a political and spiritual home for those who seek to eradicate shame and fear wherever they are found. Learn more about how we do that here.
