Building on the principles of fairness, safety, and inclusion defined in Title IX, we use the field of

play to call in joy and justice for LGBTQI people.

Here's How to Join In

"Solidarity Love Letters"

Give Back IX 2018 Action

By creating a collective expression of solidarity, witness, and joy, we are building a network of students who have the power to hold the NCAA, Christian schools, and Right Wing legal strategists to account.

What

During the spring and fall semesters, activists on and off campus are hosting Solidarity Love Letter writing events to gather up their clearest and strongest support for LGBTQI students on hostile campuses who are never allowed "fair play."

How

You can host it during a sporting event on your campus where these religious schools are playing, a student group meeting, class, or with your friends.

It's simple! Register to participate and we will send you resources on Title IX, notecards, art supplies, and other tools to help you host your event.

When

Sign up by April 5 to participate in the spring initiative or start getting ready for the fall!

We will gather all your expressions of solidarity and create a booklet to publish online, use in negotiation with the NCAA, and send to students to bolster their organizing and fortitude.

Then we'll keep working on building political and social power to work as a team to hold accountable the people who are tearing up Title IX, reproductive justice, and LGBTQI rights across the country.

Why

We've made some solid wins in the past 2 years.

The NCAA has implemented its first ever Trans inclusion policy for championship host bids, and they have backed off injecting themselves into "bathroom bill" debates.

The next wins are going to come from you, the students. The NCAA is listening.

Our goal this spring is to demonstrate the power of solidarity across all campuses – NCAA schools and not – to challenge LGBTQI discrimination and the use of religion to excuse bigotry.

"The first time I joined a gay club at my conservative christian university, it was held at a senior's apartment after dark, and we literally crept across campus housing in groups no bigger than 2 at a time, because we were so afraid some one would find out about us..."

Is your school playing a discriminatory campus?
