Sabotage Coordinator

Soulforce is a 20-year-old LGBTQI organization that sabotages Christian Supremacy through radical analysis, spiritual healing, and strategic direct action. We are seeking someone to be part of a small but mighty team who can support in varied administrative and communications tasks for the day-to-day operations, donor relations, and programming support of the organization.

 

Start Date:

September 3, 2019

Location:

We are a decentralized organization with staff members collaborating virtually from different locations. However, we are looking to hire a new team member in the Triangle area (Durham, Chapel Hill, Raleigh in North Carolina) who will co-work at least one day per week in person in Durham. Occasional overnight may be necessary.

 

Compensation:

$15 - $18 per hour commensurate with experience

Benefits:

Semi-flexible work schedule/location, paid time off (after onboarding period), cell phone benefit (after 12 mo), paid new parental leave (after 18 mo), and paid sabbatical (after 48 mo)

Hours:

20 hours per week (with a possibility of increasing to full time)

Reports to:

The Co-Executive Directors, and works collaboratively and regularly with our Kinship Minister.

Key functions of this position:

Communications & Technology

  • Building, maintaining, and updating various web platforms as requested by programs and administrative staff: (weekly)

    • Performing routine updates to Soulforce platforms, specifically Wix website and Network for Good fundraising pages to support new programs, resources, and fundraising campaigns

    • Creating user input forms for political and theological resource downloads via 1-2-3 Form Builder

    • Implementing new member onboarding processes (Constant Contact) from start to finish

    • Coordinating and maintaining the integration of digital processes between cloud-based softwares (1-2-3 Form Builder and Constant Contact)

    • Organizing member, donor, and partner contact information into specialized outreach groups on a monthly basis

    • Documenting Soulforce events on a web-hosted timeline via Tiki-Toki

  • Monitoring the general Soulforce email addresses (daily)

    • Responding to general inquiries, deleting spam, monitoring for phishing or other abnormal/malicious activity

    • Forwarding more specific requests to the appropriate staff member 

  • Scheduling Soulforce’s digital meeting technology (Zoom) 

  • Managing zoom technology for online events and meetings

  • Sharing live updates to Soulforce social media (via Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram) during Soulforce programming

  • Sharing and crossposting new content and programming with Soulforce networks and groups on the organization’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts

  • Receiving requests for partnership, media interviews, and other collaborations and coordinating with appropriate staff, board members, or Soulforce members to fulfill requests in a timely manner

 

Internal Information Management & Organizational Administration

  • Maintaining the internal Soulforce calendars: fundraising, management, programs, compliance, grant reporting (weekly) 

  • Maintaining the organization of Soulforce’s internal cloud-based filing systems (hosted on Google Team Drive) for Soulforce documents, media, etc.

  • Coordinating meetings and travel arrangements for staff in support of programming and administrative trips

  • Documenting monthly online downloads and physical distribution of Soulforce materials and resources

 

Fundraising

  • Supporting the Kinship Minister in the implementation of fundraising and member engagement strategies throughout the year

    • Making phone calls and writing notes to thank donors and supporters (weekly)

    • Putting together and sending first-time donor welcome material & general mailing materials for member outreach 

    • Supporting staff in sending donation tax letters to donor base (annually)

    • Supporting staff in recording and giving gratitude for in-kind donations

 

Other

  • Providing general support as needed to the organization’s directors

 

This is a key position in the overall health of our organization and, more importantly, in moving the work of sabotaging Christian Supremacy forward, so excellent communication, self-motivation, reliability, and being detail-oriented are a must.

  • Experience with website maintenance is required for this role. Familiarity with Wix, or another drag-and-drop web builder, is a plus. Coding experience is not required for this role, but familiarity with any computer programming language will be very helpful to navigate Soulforce’s digital technologies.

  • Fluency in Spanish is a major plus.

  • You are self-disciplined, and can work independently to complete tasks and meet deadlines without a lot of supervision after settling into the expectations and requirements of a new role.

  • You have a strong work ethic and can follow through with tasks on multiple concurrent projects until completion.

  • You have an eye for design and beauty, and you are aware of the importance of beauty as community care and spirit-work in everything we do: from handwriting thank-you notes to crafting tweets and creating web forms.
